![]() The Vin Perdu label has been designed especially for the Flip Lenticular printing process which achieves a 3-D holographic effect. Depending on the angle of the view, the Flip effect turns visual elements of the image on and off; one image can completely change to another. Subtle differences in the Vin Perdu artwork, when blended together and viewed from side to side, produce a moving effect of the combined images. |
Every year, after we do our final blends, we have varying amounts of wine left over that does not fit our blend profiles for Amuse Bouche. It is wine that is simply to luscious to waste! We have decided to blend these delicious components into Vin Perdu. The 2005 blend is a great combination of our Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Merlot. We will bottle Vin Perdu in 5.0 liter jerobaums only. Some years on occasion, we will have a few jerobaums to sell, sometimes none -- this inaugural year we will have a few hundred available. This distinctive wine is being offered only to our A list customers on a first-in basis. Vin Perdu can be translated from French as "lost wine". But it is also a reference to one of the great French culinary contributions to the world: Pain Perdu (literally, lost bread). When a baguette is a day old (and quite state), it becomes eligible for transformation into a wonderful breakfast - thick slices of bread soaked in an egg/sugar batter, then fried into "French Toast"! The sizzling butter and toasty caramel aromas revive the lost art of cooking from scratch. Each year, when the opportunity arises, Vin Perdu will be blended from scratch. Heidi will be at liberty to create something completely unique and undoubtedly exceptional, using a variable palette of ingredients. So we do not get lost in translation, Heidi will only produce Vin Perdu when she can produce wine to be proud of. We have created a remarkable label for this wine and are confident that Vin Perdu will decorate your wine cellars and enliven your dinner parties. Each bottle has been signed by Heidi Barret. We will ship Vin Perdu in the fall, 2007. There is a limit of one jerobaum per customer, and those who receive an allocation of the inaugural release will receive priority purchasing rights on all future offerings. The price is $950 per jerobaum plus applicable shipping ($40) and taxes (within California). This is a special price for a jerobaum of Heidi's nectar, but you are housing "lost wine" looking for a loving home! Amuse Bouche wines may be delivered anywhere within California and the reciprocal states (CO, ID, IL, LA, MN, MO, ND, NE, NH, NM, NV, OR, WA, WV, WI). If you are interested in purchasing Vin Perdu and do not reside in one of the states listed above, please contact us at 1-707-251-9300.
